spare change

It’s been a while, I know. The meds make it difficult to do… well… anything. I have the attention span of a cabbage. A cabbage grown in Dubya’s garden.
But I haven’t been completely absent.
etherfarm v3.0 debuts on Monday. Little by little, it’s been recoded, redesigned, and re-architected entirely from scratch. I really like the new site, and hopefully not being too presumptuous, you will too. Geeks will appreciate that it validates XHTML-strict, it allows me to change just about every aspect of the site by editing a few files, and does some pretty neat stuff with Movable Type. Non-geeks will appreciate the fact that it “looks pretty and works good.” Mac users will appreciate the fact that it’s optimized to use some of my favorite fonts (which now come standard with OS X) and that it renders great in Safari, IE, and Mozilla/Firebird/Netscape. PC users will appreciate the fact that it looks good, despite the fact that Microsoft engineers couldn’t get IE6 to render dotted lines properly if their stock options stocks depended on it. Those with small monitors will appreciate that it fits just fine on an 800 pixel-wide monitor. Those with larger monitors will appreciate that it’s fluid enough to fill a 1280 pixel-wide monitor. Those who hated the fact that I previously spelled the site “etherf@rm” will appreciate that the site’s name is now just “etherfarm”. Those who liked the it as “etherf@rm” will appreciate the fact that I kept the @ in my email address.
You see, it’s got a bit of something for everyone. Except maybe for albino emu farmers.
The blogging world has an even shorter attention span than my medicated self, and understandably, traffic has fallen off a little since my last post. Obviously there’s not much I can do about that; I’ve had other things to worry about. But many thanks to those of you who have emailed, stopped by, and kept me in your thoughts since the surgery. I’m 3000% better than I was three weeks ago, which means I’m at about 60% back to normal. With any luck, I’ll return to regular posting next week.
See you on Monday.
